So 60% of Team Ranch have been mooching around some of the other studios the UK has to offer in the last fortnight. We’ve been Lucky enough to visit BBC’s legendary Maida Vale studios which for us was like a nerdathon of biblical propertions. Very satisfying indeed.
This weekend just past we visited Surrey universities Tonnmeister course and spent the day tracking throuhg an SSL 9000 console, one of the highlights of my recording career without question. Suffice to say i am geeked out and in need of more familiar surroundings to beat still my wild heart.
So back to work! This week we have the beginnings of no less than FOUR awesomely exciting projects:
Box Me Pandora: Girl with cello + drums and extra instrumentation.. this is the kind pf project that is super fun to get your teeth into and be expressive!
Joel Cottrell: Joel is a familar face to us here having worked on his last solo ep. This, however, is a band affair! 3-piece made up of guitar drums and keys! I expect this to be VERY good!
Rooks: Rooks are a brighton punk band made up of members of Phineas Gage, Not Katies and Second Monday.. snotty, shouty and a lot of fun!
Famous Grey: In the vein of Gallows et al, uk hardcore. Noisy!
