We need to fund the last few bits of the building of #theblacklodge and as such have decided to move on some of our equipment. We’re open to offers but keep them reasonable. All gear can be seen or heard in real life at the studio and also in pics/vids and clips below!
Mapex Saturn: £800 ono
14” x 10”, 16” x 16”, 18” x 16” & 24” x 20” bass drum in light blue metallic. Finish is AMAZING and the lit is immaculate having seen only a few months of studio use.
Good example of how it sounds can be found here:
This is Landscapes, we used the Saturn for the drums - there’s pretty much ZERO augmentation from samples in the kit in this mix.
Sonor Phonic: £350 ono
Our Sonor phonic is a proper drum bargain. Huge, heavy Beech shells that sound fantastically warm. The sizes are decidedly vintage as it’s a 24x16 kick drum with deep 14” and 18” toms. It has tom mount and legs and is in fantastic condition. Recently looked at by a drum aficionado who seemed relatively convinced it was all original except for maybe the tom having been made shallower at some point but nothing 100%.
It can be heard here: http://www.facebook.com/godonniebrasco/app_204974879526524
This is Donnie Brasco, the picture above is from that session also.
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier 3 channel Solo head: £1,000 ono
Selling our Mesa Dual rec. It’s loud, it rocks and is considered to be one of the definitive amp designs of the last few decades. Especially good for metal but we have all enjoyed using the clean channel “pushed” and turned up full!
Mint condition. Recently serviced and comes with cover and foot switch.
It’s been used on several records, normally with something EMG based and has always received nodding appreciation from all who use it.
Marshall JCM800 LTD ED Red (1995) + matching 1960a 4x12 £1,000 ono
Only bought recently but turns out we don’t need a second JCM800 as much as we need glass in our new windows.
Used on a few records since buying it and have always dialled in a great tone. SLightly more macho than our older JCM800 but the EQ is way more usable! The fact it’s a rare model means it should accumulate value. Forbes magazine recently said old whisky and rare vintage musical instruments are amongst the most solid contemporary investments. In less than 10 years this will be considered “vintage”.
DW Edge Snare £450 ono
Came with full kit but is surplus to requirement as we love our Phonic 14x8 too much!
Dry and Bright, very responsive and very loud! Edge Snares have always received great reviews and re normally crazy money (£750ish new!) This one is Maple and Steel and is finished in Blue Onyx. Great snare!
